Despite being transferred to the National Medical College in Kolkata, the child's condition did not improve, and he eventually passed away at the Mother and Child Center.

Multiple cases of adenovirus infections have been reported across the state, with a 9-month-old child from Udayanarayanpur in Howrah also reported dead due to the virus.
